With this assignment I am going to analyze the partnership I are currently in, and show how it has followed the theory of Social Transmission also known as the onion theory.
The sociable penetration theory is actually a five part progress that starts with an orientation phase. From this phase there exists generally tiny talk, and dialog socially appropriate, and very basic. Next, is the stage called the exploratory efficient phase wherever we start to reveal a tad bit more, we share our views about standard subjects such as movies, music, art, or sports as casual good friends. The third period is the affective, we talk about private issues, share private data and thoughts, a trust is being constructed, and some pressing and maybe a few kissing. Fights can happen through this phase too. The next step is the stable phase is where the relationship becomes comfortable, and it is said to plateau, it is in this stage the fact that persons in the relationship can easily predict the mediocre emotional reactions. Finally you have the depenetration period, where there is a break down and private information will not be being exchanged, it is the end of a romance, usually because the key benefits of the relationship no more is surpass the burden of it. It the theory itself, it is compared to peeling away the layers associated with an onion one by one, gradually getting to know the person tad by bot.
